Deracine, the Skeletal Warden

This is a showcase of all of the work I did for Deracine, the Skeletal Warden, who I created for the Extended Workshop's Horror Jam and released on October 16th, 2024. The link to the character has been included below if you want to check it out for yourself

Deracine was a character I animated from September 2024 through mid October 2024, with a big focus of her animations being one winding movements around a static tombstone, which proved to be a significant creative challenge due to her inhuman anatomy

Her main gimmick is her ability to summon a powerful skeletal warrior, Vaal, to rise from his grave and fight along side her. Vaal had a bigger focus on vicious and wild attacks, showcasing a potent fury that is plain to see

I also created several flavors of ghastly visual effects, with a mix of ghosts swirling around as they decay, dirt bursting from strikes of her tombstone, and geysers of blood erupting from some of her more brutal attacks

In the end, with the coding and SFX help from my good friend Delta Parallax, Deracine released to the intrigue of many who were interested in Horror Jam competition, and ended up placing 3rd overall in the competition
